In a perfect world, the top professional sports league would include a professional league for the general public to enjoy the sport. In reality, the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, or any of the other major sports, would be no exception, as they would try as hard as possible to keep the public away from the games. The current MLB, NBA, NHL, and the MLB did a great job with this, and while they were successful, the NFL, NBA, and MLB were not.
In the early 1990’s, the NFL, NBA, and MLB all tried to do this by giving their players special jerseys to wear during the games. The jerseys were really cool, and the players were really good at their jobs, but the jerseys were still very gimmicky and only served to make the players look cool and the games seem more dangerous.
A few years ago, in the NFL, there was an effort to make the jerseys more “professional”. To make them even more attractive, they were spray-painted the color of the uniforms. This was a success, but the NFL still got a lot of heat from fans and some players for how it was an attack on sportsmanship.
I have to say the jerseys are actually pretty cool and it is a good idea to go to your local store and pick up some of the colors for the jerseys. But it seems to me that what the NFL was really trying to do was make the athletes look like stars. Even though it’s obviously far from the truth, I bet the fans would find it refreshing if the jerseys had a certain color that they felt the players should wear. The jerseys are still pretty neat and easy to add to.
This is a good point. I have to say that the jerseys have a certain look to them that is unlike anything I’ve ever seen in the NFL. I mean, it’s not like the players have to be wearing the color green, or black, or orange, or teal, or a particular shade of purple. The jerseys do provide a certain sort of look that I find very refreshing, a sort of “what the hell?” look.
What makes this so refreshing is that you don’t have to wear a uniform, or a particular stripe color, or a particular design scheme. The jerseys allow you to go with your own style, as long as you’re still a fan of the sport.
I like to think of the NFL as a great source of inspiration for all of us. Even though the league was born in New York, and is still based in the state, it’s based in Philadelphia (which has the Eagles) and in many ways is very much a local league. The league is about the fans, and it’s about the players.
This is important for the reason the NFL is so relevant to the way we live now. The NFL was originally a small team owned by the City of Philadelphia. The team originally started in the 1920’s and lasted for a few decades. In the 1950’s the team was sold to an owner in Texas. The team was renamed the Dallas Cowboys. By the 1980’s, the team was in the shadow of the Buffalo Bills.
The Cowboys had a long history of football going back to the days of the 1970s. We’re on the way to a Super Bowl. They had an enormous following of the 1980s and 1990s. They had a Super Bowl when they won that Super Bowl.
