The two of us had what I thought was a pretty great partnership. I was working on my real estate search and Steve was working on his real estate search. But that all changed the day my husband died suddenly from a heart attack. Steve was devastated and I was very close to him. I didn’t want to be alone, so I called my parents to help out. They didn’t know Steve, so they were willing to help out.
It was like I had a friend. We would talk, we would joke around, and we would laugh a lot. But we were never as close as we were during our marriage. Our relationship was always somewhat strained because he always had to work and I had to go home each night.
The only other thing that changed was the date of Steve’s death. Steve was the one who had to go to the dentist for an appointment. There was a lot of pressure to do that. I was thinking about Steve’s death, wondering how the world had changed since he was killed. I would think that would be the same as it was before Steve’s death, but something was different. He was gone, but there was no way Steve could have died.
I wonder if this could be related to the fact that Steve was always having to work. I don’t know why that is, it just seemed logical to me.
I don’t think it’s because there was pressure to do that. I think it’s because he had a tendency to get stressed out and upset at work. He was always having to make adjustments to the way things worked, so he would get stressed out about making it a better place to work.
