The story of Deathloop is pretty thin. It’s not enough to scare you into playing, but it’s not enough to actually show you what to do either. So we’re left with this rather dull cinematic trailer.
I’m not sure if it’s just me, or if this is a trend, but the Deathloop trailer seems to be missing the point of what makes it great. It takes the classic game-changer and turns it into a game mechanic. That’s not to say it’s bad, but the trailer is trying to show you what your weapon does, what your game-object is, and what your goal is. But it doesn’t.
The game is just getting better, and it seems to be getting better by the day. Even our friend, the one that seems to make the best game-changer videos, is leaving the video game industry to work on his own video games. So this isn’t a trend, even though the Deathloop trailer is just plain boring.
