It is more important for people who are doing a project to be honest with their project manager.

You should not only ask for help, but ask for help in ways that are relevant. You should ask for advice, you should ask for feedback, you should ask for advice about the way your project is going, and you should ask for feedback about the process, the team, and the goals.

If a project is late or does not meet the deadline, the manager is the one who has to fix it. If a project is not fun or interesting, the manager is the one who has to fix it.
