We use the word “otcmkts” to describe the fact that we sometimes act without thinking, without truly knowing what we’re doing.

For example, when I’m driving and I know I’m on autopilot I usually just cruise along, and I probably wouldn’t have done that if I was aware all the time, but if I’m on autopilot, then I’m usually oblivious to my surroundings, even if I’m not aware of them happening.
