In some ways it’s sad that the time-looping genre of games is being taken over by a company who are so obviously trying to make money off of gamers who are already bored with their franchises. Cube Wall is an interesting experiment in that it’s a game with a time loop, but it does it in such a way that it takes the player out of the loop so you can actually play it.
Cube Wall, by being a time-looping game, doesn’t really make sense. I mean, you would think, at the very least, there would be some clear narrative that would lead from game to game, but I didn’t see that. I mean, there is supposed to be a story progression for all the games in the series, but Cube Wall just throws the player into a time loop where they’re basically trapped in the past.
The story of a time loop, however, does not really look like it needs to look like Cube Wall. It doesn’t really look like a time loop because the player is stuck until they’re out of the loop in five days. It looks really weird and not like a time loop at all. It almost looks like one of the characters is playing it, but it’s pretty funny.
Cube Wall is kind of like an RPG that happens in the past of the player’s own timeline. The game has a few interesting features, such as its ability to change the time it takes to kill an enemy in real time, and also the fact that the player can choose to play the game in reverse (meaning they can play the game in real time).
Cube Wall is pretty fun and you can pretty much play it by yourself. All you really need is a power up that allows you to jump higher and attack enemies with more power.
